Kylie Chuntao Gavin

Today we made the final decision on Kylie's middle name. Since "Xu" would be considered her last name, we have decided to make her middle name a combination of her two first names: Chun and Tao. We will put them together to be "Chuntao". Before we made this final decision, we wanted to speak with someone from China to insure that we would be respectful of Kylie's heritage and the Chinese language. Through the gracious assistance from the parents of one of Jackson's friends at school, our questions were answered and we were able to move forward. They are from China and insured us that it was definitely acceptable to combine the names. They have done the same with their son's middle name. They also double-checked our referral to be sure we had interpreted her name correctly. By looking at the original Chinese characters, they were able to determine that her name does mean "Spring Peach".
